Introduction

KapTable AI Limited ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is collected, used, and disclosed by KapTable AI Limited when you use our BabelEar application ("App") on iOS and Android.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By downloading or using the BabelEar App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information Collection

At present, KapTable AI does not collect any usage data through this application.

We will notify you of any changes to our data collection practices through app updates. Future versions may include optional analytics to improve the app's functionality.

The following information is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers:

• OpenAI API Keys
• Settings and Preferences: Stored in UserDefaults on iOS; SharedPreferences (or EncryptedSharedPreferences) on Android.
• Conversation History: Temporarily stored in memory during app usage and cleared when the app is closed or a session ends.

OpenAI API

BabelEar requires an OpenAI API key to function, which you must provide. When you use your OpenAI API key with our App:

• Your API key is securely stored locally (Keychain on iOS; Keystore or EncryptedSharedPreferences on Android) and is not transmitted to KapTable AI's servers.
• Audio data is processed through OpenAI's WebRTC service for real-time translation.
• We are not associated, linked nor responsible for OpenAI’s privacy practices. Please refer to their policy for details.

Data Storage

All app data is stored locally on your device:

• OpenAI API Key:
  • iOS: Stored in Keychain.
  • Android: Stored securely via Android Keystore System or EncryptedSharedPreferences.
• Settings and Preferences:
  • iOS: Stored in UserDefaults.
  • Android: Stored in SharedPreferences or EncryptedSharedPreferences.
• Conversation History:
  • Temporarily held in memory during an active session; cleared when the App closes or a session ends (both iOS and Android).

Microphone Access & Android Permissions

BabelEar requires access to your device's microphone to function:

• iOS: You’ll see a standard system prompt requesting microphone access.
• Android: We declare the RECORD_AUDIO permission in our AndroidManifest.xml, and you’ll be prompted at runtime to grant microphone access.

Audio data is processed in real-time via OpenAI's WebRTC service. It is not stored or recorded by BabelEar nor sent to KapTable AI’s servers beyond the live stream.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this policy periodically. All changes take effect immediately upon posting.

Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we process. Since we do not collect personal data, these rights primarily concern data processed by OpenAI. For inquiries, consult OpenAI’s Privacy Policy.
